 The Solano Community College Real Estate program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to launch a successful career in the real estate industry.

Courses prepare students to meet the educational requirements for the California salesperson and broker license examinations, with classes in real estate finance, appraisals, and more—all taught by experienced real estate professionals.

The Solano Community College Real Estate program offers the courses required to qualify for both the California salesperson license examination and the broker’s examination.

Students gain a solid foundation in areas such as real estate finance, property appraisal, and related practices, all taught by knowledgeable professionals with real-world experience. This program is designed to provide the essential skills and preparation needed to begin or advance a career in real estate.

  • Certificate of Achievement in Real Estate

    Students earn this certificate upon completing the required 24–25‑unit major—a curriculum approved by the California Department of Real Estate. Courses cover essential areas such as real estate principles, practice, legal aspects, finance, and appraisal techniques. A minimum grade of C—or P (if taken Pass/No Pass)—is required for each course. 

  • Associate in Science in Real Estate

    This is a full A.S. degree earned by completing the 24–25‑unit major plus general education and elective coursework, reaching the 60‑unit total requirement. Students must meet the same grade requirements as the certificate program.

    After additional licensing, you can manage brokerages and lead a team of agents. 

  • Property Manager / Leasing Agent

    Oversee rentals, tenant relationships, maintenance, and leasing operations. 

  • Appraiser / Licensed Residential Appraiser

    Assess property values for loans, sales, and insurance appraisals. 

  • Escrow Assistant / Title Officer

    Support transaction processing and ensure all paperwork is legally compliant. 

  • Transaction Coordinator

    Manage and organize steps in property transactions to ensure smooth closings. 

  • Real Estate Office Assistant / Buyer’s Assistant

    Provide administrative and operational support to agents and clients. 

  • Real Estate Paralegal / Legal Support

    Prepare documents, perform research, and support legal aspects of real estate transactions. 

  • Mortgage Broker / Loan Processing Specialist

    Facilitate financing for homebuyers and manage loan applications and approvals. 

  • Commercial Real Estate Associate / Analyst

    Analyze property investments, assist in acquisitions or portfolio management. 

  • Real Estate Investment Analyst

    Evaluate market trends and financial viability of real estate investments. 

  • Real Estate Investor / Consultant

    Buy, manage, or advise on real estate ventures with a business-focused approach.
