The Journalism program at Solano Community College prepares students to think critically, communicate effectively, and report stories with accuracy and responsibility. Students develop skills in writing, reporting, media production, and analysis while exploring the role of journalism in society.

 

Solano offers the Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) in Journalism, designed for students planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or Advertising at a California State University (CSU) campus. Completion of this degree guarantees admission to the CSU system with junior standing, ensuring a smooth pathway to continue studies at the university level.

    Intended for students planning to transfer to a California State University (CSU) to complete a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or Advertising. Completion guarantees admission to the CSU system with junior standing, though not to a specific campus or major.
