The History program at Solano Community College explores how societies have evolved over time, examining the social, political, economic, and cultural forces that shaped them.
From U.S. and World History to African-American, Mexican-American, California, Western Civilization, and Women’s History, students gain a broad and meaningful perspective on humanity’s past—because understanding history is the first step to shaping the future.

The History program at Solano Community College provides students with a broad understanding of human societies and their development over time. Through a chronological study of major social, political, economic, and cultural forces, students gain insight into the events and movements that have shaped the world. The program offers a diverse range of courses, allowing students to explore United States, World, Western Civilization, African-American, Mexican-American, California, and Women’s History. This foundation prepares students for further study at a four-year institution and equips them with critical thinking, research, and analytical skills applicable to many career paths.
Associate in Arts in History for Transfer (AA‑T)

Designed for students aiming to complete a bachelor's degree in History (or a related field) at a California State University (CSU).

Guarantees admission with junior standing to the CSU system—though not to a specific campus or major. Students must complete 60 transferable semester units, including General Education and at least 18 units in History.
