Fire Technology
The Solano Community College Fire Technology program prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training needed for a successful career in fire service.
Developed in collaboration with local fire protection agencies, this program combines classroom learning with real-world applications taught by seasoned fire service professionals. Students can pursue a Certificate of Achievement, an Associate in Science Degree, or participate in the Fire Technology Academy designed for both pre-service and active recruits.

The Fire Technology program at Solano Community College is designed to prepare students for entry-level and advanced careers in the fire service. Developed under the guidance of Solano County fire protection agencies, the program offers two pathways: a Certificate of Achievement, earned upon completion of 30β45 units of core coursework, and an Associate in Science Degree, which requires the major, General Education, and electives totaling a minimum of 60 units.
Taught by experienced fire service professionals, the curriculum provides both academic knowledge and hands-on training in fire protection, safety, and emergency response. In addition, the Fire Technology Academy is offered periodically for recently recruited personnel and pre-service students, providing intensive, real-world preparation for the demands of the profession.
