The Dance program provides students with a strong foundation in technique, performance, choreography, and theory. Through a blend of studio practice and academic study, students develop the physical, creative, and critical skills necessary for success in the performing arts and related fields.

This program is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year university to major or minor in dance. A comprehensive dance education develops the skills needed to create, perform, communicate, and fully appreciate the art of movement. Students gain hands-on experience through modern dance, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom, performance, choreography, dance production, and music fundamentals.

Associate in Arts in Dance for Transfer (AA-T) – prepares students for seamless transfer to a CSU to pursue a BA or BFA in Dance or related fields.

Associate in Arts in Dance (AA) – provides comprehensive training in technique, choreography, and performance for students entering the workforce or continuing to university.

Certificate of Achievement in Dance – offers focused preparation in dance performance, choreography, and production for those seeking professional opportunities or personal enrichment.
Graduates of the Dance program may pursue a variety of careers in the performing arts, education, and related industries, including:

Performer – in concert dance companies, musical theatre, commercial productions, and entertainment industries.

Choreographer – creating original works for stage, film, television, and live events.

Dance Educator – teaching in private studios, community programs, and preparing for K-12 or higher education with further study.

Dance Therapist – using movement in health and wellness settings (with advanced education).

Arts Administrator / Production Manager – working behind the scenes in dance companies, theatres, or arts organizations.
