The Business Administration program at Solano Community College is designed for students pursuing a career in business while preparing to transfer to a California State University (CSU) or other four-year institution. By completing this program, students will earn an Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer (AS-T), which fulfills lower-division requirements and guarantees priority admission to the CSU system in a similar major.
A bachelor’s degree in business is strongly recommended for those planning careers in management, finance, marketing, accounting, or related fields. Completion of this program demonstrates commitment to the discipline and provides a strong foundation for advanced coursework and professional success.
1. Business Administration (General)

Certificate of Achievement – Business, General
Complete a 23–25 unit major with a minimum grade of C (or P for Pass/No Pass). -
Associate in Science (A.S.) – Business, General
Requires completion of the 23–25 unit major, general education, and electives to reach at least 60 units total.
2. Associates for Transfer (AS-T)

Associate in Science – Business Administration for Transfer (AS-T)
A 60–61 unit degree that includes general education (IGETC or CSU GE) and a 27-unit major (e.g., Accounting, Business, Economics, Stats, CIS), offering priority transfer to CSU programs.

Certificate of Achievement – Insurance Specialist (Property & Casualty)
Complete a 31-unit major focusing on insurance fundamentals and practices. -
Associate in Science (A.S.) – Business: Insurance: Property & Casualty
Same 31-unit major plus general education and electives to achieve at least 60 total units.

Completion of a 21-unit major that covers leadership, business communication, and planning skills. -

Requires the 21-unit major plus general education and electives to total at least 60 units.
