Spring 2014 Elections

Are you interested in a leadership position in the Associated Students of Solano Community College? This semester we will be holding elections for President, Vice-President, Student Trustee, and Legislative Advocate.

If you wish to apply for one of these positions, you will have to run for office in an election. To get started, you must declare your candidacy by filling out the appropriate form at the Student Development Office, room 1425. The "Declaration of Candidacy" filing period will be from January 21st to February 13th, 2014. If you decide to run but do not fill out a Declaration of Candidacy form, you can still run as a write-in candidate; some restrictions will apply.

For an executive position in student government, you must be enrolled in at least 6 units (including Political Science 50) and have a GPA of 2.3 or higher. There may be additional requirements; see our Bylaws for full details.

Senator positions, and the executive positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations Officer, are by appointment. You do not need to run in an election for these positions, although they may have other requirements.
