ASSC Mission Statement

We, the Associated Students of Solano Community College (ASSC), do ordain and establish a student government committed to effective student participation in all areas of student concern.

Furthermore, we shall, through independent action and in concert with the college community exhibit leadership by example and encourage academic excellence; we shall participate in the development, augmentation, and improvement of educational programs.

Additionally, we pledge to protect freedom of assembly, diversity, and expression. We shall tirelessly advocate the right of students to participate at all levels of governance; moreover, we shall provide services and coordinate activities for students, and advance the ideal of responsible citizenship.

The Associated Students of Solano College are located in the ASSC Workroom (Building 1400, Room 1406). Please feel free to stop by to meet and chat with your senators and Executive Board members. We want to hear from you!

Any interested student with a 2.3 (or above) cumulative GPA in classes taken at the College, and enrolled in at least 6 units each semester is eligible to run for the elected position of President, Vice President, Student Trustee or Legislative Advocate.

To apply to be a Senator or Senate Associate you must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units and have earned at least a 2.0 GPA in SCC coursework. You must also be able to attend weekly ASSC meetings without any class conflicts.

Applications for the Student Senate are available in the Student Life Office (Bldg. 1400, Room 1425) or ASSC Workroom (Bldg. 1400, Room 1406).
