Welcome to SOAR and Guardian Scholars, Solano Community College’s Support Program for Foster Youth
Solano Community College welcomes you to the SOAR (Students Overcoming Adversity & Recidivism) and the Guardian Scholar Program designed to assist current and former foster youth to successfully navigate the community college system while simultaneously teaching them basic life skills.
SOAR’s goals for Guardian Scholars include access to college services and resources; successful completion of attempted units; retention; completion of college degrees and certificates; and transfer to a 4-year university. Program services include enrollment services, financial aid assistance, academic counseling, referrals to campus and community-based resources, and workshops. We are committed to helping you transition into becoming a successful college student.
