SOLANO COMMUNITY COLLEGE SITE TOUR
The following is a summary of responses from the site awareness tour.

STATION 1
This is a main gateway to the campus. What are your thoughts regarding this gateway?
Summary
Most of the workshop attendants are concerned that circulation and arrival is confusing and creates pedestrian safety issues. They expressed a need for building identification, directional signage, and an increase in lighting. The group would also like to see the entrance enhanced with landscaping, signage, and monumentation.

STATION 2
This appears to visitors as a public entry with bus and administration located here, but there is no visitor parking. What are your ideas for improved visitor orientation to the campus?
Summary
A majority of the responses focused on the need for additional directional and entry signage. Other comments included the addition of an archway, and landscaping along the grass area, including adding up-lighting to the commemorative oak tree. Many responses also indicated the need for an additional seating at the existing bus stop shelter and the addition of visitor parking to this area.

STATION 3
This is the primary gateway to the campus. Similar to Question #1, what are your thoughts regarding aesthetics, way finding and a celebration of arrival?
Summary
Most responses indicated the need for larger directional signage and a modification to pedestrian and vehicular circulation onto campus. Others expressed a need for new ticket machines for parking and the relocation of visitor parking to a more appropriate location.

STATION 4
Restriping of parking lot #3 now orients visitors and campus users to this pedestrian spine. A new student service center is planned to the left and a campus directory is planned at this location. A pedestrian mall will be built between these two buildings leading you to the library.
Summary
Most felt this location needs gateway elements such as signage and lighting. They also felt it would be appropriate to add visitor parking in this location
