SOLANO COMMUNITY COLLEGE SITE TOUR The following is a summary of responses from the site awareness tour. STATION 5 This is where the new mall will terminate. What kinds of improvements do you think should be considered here relative to way finding and campus enrichment? Summary Most workshop members would like to enhance the sense of arrival through adding campus identification to signs and buildings. They also expressed a concern for additional seating and landscaping. STATION 6 We have been walking along the main pedestrian walkway through the campus. Sidewalks connecting to this main walkway lead you to most buildings and destinations on campus. Should this main walkway have uniqueness to it (i.e. color, texture, signage, planting, lighting, etc)? Summary Many feel this is location would benefit from additional landscaping, signage, lighting, monumentation, and seating. |
STATION 7 This is the heart of the campus. Draw and/or describe your ideas to enhance this area relative to people gathering places, addition or removal of walkways, signage/way finding, lighting, landscape planting, fountains, seating, etc. Summary Most would like to add a monument feature and seating to this location. They also expressed the importance of adding lighting, signage, and landscaping. STATION 8 Are there, or should there be, any opportunities for people gathering places, circulation refinement, or improving way finding? Summary Most would like to see an increase in seating and special landscaping in this area.  |
