SURVEY 1 STUDENT COMMENTS • Sculptures/Murals by art students (1300 Bldg) • More lighting (esp. near 1600 and 1800 bldgs; not just in front of but around restrooms) • Duck Pond • Parking is adequate; electric car spaces are under used and police should park there; more Ride Share (carpools slots) • New Parking lot has too small, too tight slots • Disabled Parking lots are not used • Replace dead, removed tree from Astronaut/Challenger Memorial near Theater • Statue of wounded soldier under an American flag • Smoking section in shade, away from entrances • More diversity in landscaping • Fountain (i.e. between 100 and 1400; outside the 800 bldg.; honoring Gov. Schwarzenneger; like the one at Coppola winery • “Quiet” signs near study areas • Designated “social areas” • Get rid of “ugly dirt” areas • Benches under trees • Aluminum shades for light posts (near 100 bldg); move lighting to middle of parking lots • Plant trees along walkways; trees that are green year round, and near benches/seating/tables; more shade trees • Stream or brook |
STUDENT COMMENTS - Continued • Community garden (i.e. the grassy area between 1400 and 1500; behind portables (1100); next to where police station and police cars are parked • Waterfall, pond with koi fish (like Delta College) • Each building should have a landmark to find them easier • Colorful flowers and plants all around campus Examples: 1. Spelling out “Solano College” near Science Bldg 2. Soften landscape with flower beds   |
