Class Finder Home Page

Solano Community College's Class Finder is an advanced search engine that enables you to quickly search for classes offered for a term in a specific subject, location, time of day, or other criteria. Real-time information relating to seat availability, including available waitlist slots, is provided to assist students deciding on which courses to enroll. More specific section information is also available by clicking on links provided in your search results. This Advanced Search page provides up to 10 additional options than the Basic Search to further narrow searches such as by instructor, days of the week, or by short-term section offerings. Add this paragraph make consistent with Basic, include above changes.

Subject

Use the scroll bar to the right to scroll down and select the subject of the course or courses you wish to search. To select multiple items, hold down the Ctrl key (PC) or the Command key (Mac) and then click on the desired items. A maximum of 200 CRN's may be displayed per request. If you see "You have 200 class(es) displayed..." at the end of displayed classes, there are additional classes that are not displayed. You will need to change/limit the selected criteria to see additional classes.

Course #

The 3-digit number that is assigned to a course may be entered (i.e. HED 202, MATH 123, etc.) as well as selecting a subject to search. If no subject is selected and "all" is left as the default, then the results will display all courses associated with the 3-digit number submitted.

Some courses have a 3-digit number plus a letter indicating the level of the course (i.e. ENGL 201A, ENGL 201B) that can also be entered with a selected subject. If no letter is included, search results will still display all courses that include both the 3-digit number and those with the additional letter.

Solano Community College courses are numbered for degree or transfer as follows:

  • 000-099 = Not Associate Degree Applicable
  • 100-199 = Associate Degree Applicable
  • 200-299 = Transfer Level (Courses will also have a notation of CSU and/or UC transfer at the end of the course description.)

CRN

Enter the 5-digit CRN for the course you wish to initiate a search.

The CRN column indicates the "Course Reference Number" assigned to each section of a course.  A CRN is a 5-digit number that is entered in your MySolano to register for classes. For step-by-step instructions click here.   Each term/session is assigned a unique starting number as noted below. When multiple terms are available in a registration cycle, it is important to enter the correct CRN assigned to the term the student wishes to enroll. Students who have received an add code from the instructor to register after the course has begun must first enter the CRN and then submit the add code (4-digit number).

CRN numbering assigned to term:

  • 1#### = Spring semester
  • 6#### = Summer session
  • 8#### = Fall semester
