Combining Education and Creativity
If your course is not on the list, your Spring 2014 SCC online course will be taught in eCollege at SOLANOnline. You can get to the eCollege login page by clicking http://solanonline.org.
Getting Started in Your SCC Canvas Online Course. If your course is listed on the SCC Online Canvas Course List, you will receive a message with details about your course from your instructor in your SCC email inbox.
Resources for your Online Education. Click on the link Canvas Orientation and view all the pages listed under each module. This orientation is designed to familiarize you with Canvas and help you get started in your SCC Canvas course. Next, review Tips for Success and Canvas Demo. The link for each of these orientations is provided to the left of this page.
Do not log into Canvas from one of the orientations on a campus computer. Click on the Google Chrome Icon when using a campus computer to log into Canvas.You will need your MySolano user name and MySolano password to log into Canvas.
After you receive notification from your instructor that your online Canvas course is available, you can type https://solano.instructure.com/login into your browser address bar to log in using your MySolano user name and MySolano password. To log in and return to your course at any time, you can bookmark the link, save it to favorites, create a shortcut on your desktop, or type the address into your browser's address bar.
Canvas Help Resources. You can send a help request directly to Canvas by using the Help feature located in the Help Corner at the top right of your SCC Online Canvas course. You can also go to http://guides.instructure.com/ and look through the Canvas Guides for a resolution.
You can get help with your SCC Canvas course by submitting a request to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. You can call the Distance Education office at (707) 864-7133, or stop by the office Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for help as well. The Distance Education office is located on the main campus in Bldg. 100, Rm. 146.

If you need to verify your MySolano username and reset your MySolano password, type http://my.solano.edu in any browser to bring up the MySolano page. Under the login box, click on Find My Username/Reset My Password. Fill in all required fields for each dialog box. If you do not remember the answer to your secret question when you are prompted for it, you will need to contact Admissions and Records at email@example.com or (707) 864-7171. Otherwise, you will come to a dialog box that will verify your MySolano username and allow you to reset your MySolano password if you do not remember it. Your password should be eight characters in length, start with a-z or A-Z, contain at least one digit like 0-9, and one special character. Special characters should not include @ $ & , <> ' ; = l or a space.
