Solano Announces New Head Baseball Coach

After 5 years as an assistant to longtime head coach Scott Stover, Tyren Sillanpaa takes the reins of the Falcon baseball program for his first year as the head coach. As the Associate Head Coach in 2017 Sillanpaa worked with the pitchers and infielders as well as focusing on recruiting and matriculation. Last season's Falcon pitchers led the Bay Valley Conference in K/9ip and were second in strikeouts, hits and homeruns allowed. The SCC staff continued their tradition of moving over 85% of student-athletes on to 4-year athletic scholarships. Sillanpaa had this to say about the transition: "I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence Coach Stover established on the field and in the classroom. My goal with this program is to graduate servant-leaders prepared to make a positive impact on those around them daily. We want difference-makers in this program. On the field we will be characterized by our high energy approach, our toughness and our commitment to selflessness while we continue to contend for the BVC championship each year."
